The Materials Simulation & Engineering Chair, based on the competencies of the scientific committee in many scales of modelling and simulation, is constituted in order:
To form and direct
A network of excellence, bringing together internationally recognized professors and researchers on all topics of modelling and simulation in the field of materials science.
To anticipate and respond to
- The needs of fundamental and applied research in the study, design, development and improvement of new materials using methods of multi-scale modelling-simulation.
- The development, optimization and adaptation of new numerical codes to meet the essential changing needs for programming, especially in the links between the simulation scales.
Skills in line with the evolving technological challenges related to materials in the context of sustainable development combining the expertise of research professors, researchers and industrial experts.
To provide advice
On the choices, directions and possible risks associated with industrial projects related to production, processing and specific applications of innovative materials.
To promote interaction
Between industry and academic researchers in the area of modelling and simulation in materials science.
